# Punch and Timelogs

Overview of the settings related to punching and timelogs.

These settings dedicated to [punching](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/core-concepts#punch) and [timelogs](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/timelogs).

## Cool Down Time

Here, you can specify the minimum time between a punch-in and a punch-out.

## Rounding interval

Set the interval used to round punch-in and punch-out times across your environment. The following values are available: `1m (default), 5m, 10m, 15m, and 30m`.

Punch times are rounded to the nearest multiple of the selected interval. If a punch is less than halfway to the next multiple, it's rounded down. Otherwise, it's rounded up. For example:

* With `1m`, a punch at 9:42:13 AM is rounded down to 9:42 AM, and a punch at 9:42:30 AM is rounded up to 9:43 AM.
* With `5m`, the halfway point is 2 minutes 30 seconds, and punches are rounded to 9:40, 9:45, 9:50, and so on. A punch at 9:42:13 AM is rounded down to 9:40 AM, and a punch at 9:42:30 AM is rounded up to 9:45 AM.

The rest of the values work the same way.

This setting applies to all employees unless a more specific value is set. You can override it for individual [companies](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/company-details#general-settings) and [job sites](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/job-site-settings#general-settings). To determine the rounding interval for a timelog, the system uses the first of the following that's set to a specific value:

1. The **Rounding interval** of the job site
2. The **Rounding interval** of the employee's company
3. The **Rounding interval** set here

If an employee works at job sites with different rounding intervals on the same day, rounded timelogs can overlap. See [Job site settings](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/job-site-settings#general-settings) for details.

Changing the rounding interval affects only new punches. Existing timelogs keep their rounded times.

## Salary Punch Policy

Choose if the **Missed Punch** flag applies to [salary employees](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/creating-a-new-employee#step-7-select-a-pay-group) the same way as it applies to [hourly employees](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/creating-a-new-employee#step-7-select-a-pay-group). Read more on flag types in [Flags](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/flags#flag-types).

## Max Leave Request Time

Set the maximum duration for a [leave request](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/editing-timelog#leave-request).

## Punch Interval

Using this option, you can set a minimum interval between [punches](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/core-concepts#punch) of the same type (punch-in or punch-out). If, for example, the value is set to 8h, and the employee punched in at 9 AM, they will not be able to punch in again before 5 PM.

## Face Liveness Check

Here, you can choose whether to apply a [face liveness](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/core-concepts#face-liveness) check as well as set a threshold. As a result, if the liveness percentage is below the specified value, a [Face Spoofing](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/flags#flag-types) flag is applied to the timelog.

## Job site-specific offline recognition

You can use this setting to restrict offline face recognition to match only against employees assigned to the current job site. It is recommended to enable the setting for higher face recognition accuracy if the job site has more than 200 employees.

## Clear Flags

Using this option, you can clear all the [flags](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/flags) from timelogs older than the specified date.

## Lunch Policy

Choose if you want to apply a lunch policy to [timelogs](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/timelogs)and specify the default duration. Read more on how lunch policy works in [Job site settings](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/job-site-settings#lunch-policy).

## Break Policy

Choose if you want to apply a break policy to [timelogs](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/timelogs)and specify the default duration. Read more on how break policy works in [Job site settings](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/job-site-settings#break-policy).

## Timelog Duration

Using this option, you can specify a minimum duration for a timelog required for [lunch policy](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/punch-and-timelogs#lunch-policy) and [break policy](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/punch-and-timelogs#break-policy) to be applied.

## Daily timelog approval

Here, you set the conditions that timelogs need to satisfy to be eligible for approval. Read more in [Daily Timelog Review](https://docs.mobiclocks.com/docs/timelog-review).
