Fixed meal break policy

Overview of fixed meal and rest break policies setup.

In this topic, you'll learn how to configure fixed meal and rest break policies. If you activate a fixed meal or rest break policy, the duration of the break is automatically subtracted from the employee timelog. For example, if the employee has logged 5 hours of work, and the break duration is set to 1 hour, the lunch duration is automatically subtracted from the employee's logged hours, resulting in 4 logged hours.

Both fixed meal and break policies have similar settings under Administration () > Settings > Meal & Rest Break. The following settings are available:

  • Duration. The duration of the break.
  • Minimum timelog duration. The minimum timelog duration required for the break policy to be applied.
  • Default for all newly created job sites. If this checkbox is selected, the configured break settings are only applied to newly created job sites, not affecting existing job sites.
