Manually track a meal break
How to track meal breaks and configure meal break settings.
If manual meal break policy is enabled for your job site, you must track your meal breaks manually through Personal App. This topic describes the steps you need to perform to track meal breaks, show break history, and configure additional settings.
Start a meal break
A Start meal break button appears on your home screen when you are punched in. The following screenshot shows the home screen with the Start meal break button.
NOTE
If Geofence lock is enabled in the meal break settings of your job site, you may start a break only if they are within the job site's geofence zone.
Identify
If face recognition is enabled in the meal break settings of your job site, you are required to take a photo of yourself and get identified before you can start the break. If face recognition is not enabled, you must enter your employee number.
After starting the meal break, you see a break timer and the overall duration of the break, as shown in the following screenshot.
End a meal break
An End meal break button appears on your home screen after starting a meal break. The following screenshot shows the home screen with the End meal break button.
There are two requirements that you may need to satisfy, based on the meal break setup in your job site, to be able to end the break:
- If Geofence lock is enabled in the meal break settings of your job site, you may end a break only if you are within the job site's geofence zone.
- If Prevent ending early is enabled in the meal break settings of your job site, you may not end the meal break earlier than its specified duration.
Identify
If face recognition is enabled in the meal break settings of your job site, you are required to take a photo of yourself and get identified before you can end the break. If face recognition is not enabled, you must enter your employee number.
View meal breaks
At the top of your app's home screen, you see the total duration of meal breaks taken during the day under Break taken, as highlighted in the following screenshot.
Additionally, under Time worked, you see the total duration of the work you have tracked during the day.
Also, you have detailed information on your meal break start and end times along with punch-in and punch-out times. To access these details, expand the job site area at the bottom of the home screen by swiping up. The following screenshot shows the expanded job site area with meal break start end and details.
Configure notifications
If meal start and end notification settings are configured in the meal break settings of your job site, you have the option of overriding them in your Personal App settings, as shown in the following screenshots.
You may not modify the time the notifications is sent, but you may enable or disable the notification.
