Flags overview

Understand how flags help you track and resolve timelog issues.

Flags are a key timelog feature that records any unusual activity, incomplete timelogs, failed attempts, and more. With the help of flags, you get the complete picture of all the aspects that need to be addressed before approving a timelog.

MobiClocks provides different flag types that automatically detect various issues and exceptions in employee timelog data. You can choose which types to enable in Administration () > Settings > Flags.

How flags work

When MobiClocks detects an issue with a timelog, it automatically applies the appropriate flag type. For example, if an employee punches out without punching in first, the system applies a Missed Punch flag to that timelog.

Each flag has the following properties:

  • Flag name: The specific category of issue detected
  • Flag type: Critical, Advisory, or Informational

See Manage flag settings for more details on each flag type and how to configure them.

Flag visibility and monitoring

You can filter timelogs by flags in the Timelogs list, where you can also resolve flags either directly in the list or from Timelog details.

In Flag dashboard, you have a centralized view of all employee flag activity across your organization, displaying flag counts by employee and type. Use it to identify trends, prioritize resolution efforts, and monitor flag patterns across different employees, job sites, and time periods.

Flag resolution

Resolving flags is an important part of the timelog approval process. You can resolve flags individually or in bulk, depending on your permissions. Once resolved, a green checkmark appears on the timelog entry. See Resolve flags for more details.
